PCT Fear Factor Event
The PCT competition is a great team building event between students and schools and also gives the students an appreciation of Police fitness requirements.  Also built into this event is some Fear factor events, Crime scene investigation and offender description to test students bravery, and observation skills to see if they have what it takes to be a cop.

Kids Gone Fishin

Kids Gone Fishing events are a series of nationwide events based around fishing and outdoor activities.  The aim is to give kids a day of fun and to encourage parents to spend quality time with their kids in healthy outdoor activities.The events are organised and run by the New Zealand Police Blue Light, the Gone Fishing Team and other local sponsors.

These fishing events (and all other Blue Light Activities);
  • Model positive behaviour and provide appropriate role models
  • Establish good communication links between the police and young people
  • Involve families, schools and communities
The philosophy behind these events is to offer positive alternatives to poor behaviour, through which people can avoid putting themselves at risk of becoming an offender of victim.

There is no charge for this event, plus there will be free sausage sizzle, drinks, and heaps of spot prizes thanks to the support of local businesses such as McDonalds, Katmandu, Fishing 4 Less.
Registration can be done on the day at the event or by picking up a registration form from the Tauranga or Durham Street Police Station.

Blue Light Bangers

Eleven Blue Light Banger events are run throughout the year in local schools, with the involvement of other emergency services workers. The aim of the youth events is to establish police relationships whilst rewarding kids for positive behaviour. This event has been extremely successful in bridging gaps between the community and emergency services and helps make police, fire and ambulance personnel more approachable for children.

Plus more coming throughout the year……
