It takes a community to raise a child
WHO WE ARE
Te Aranui Youth Trust is a not for profit organisation that works with vulnerable children in the Western Bay of Plenty.
Working in conjunction with the NZ Police and Ministry of Education we provide a number of interventions for vulnerable youth between the ages of 7-14.
Founded over 20 years ago from a desire to provide disadvantaged youth with the tools for a positive future, the trust provides role models who help to instil a sense of pride in the children, teaching them life skills that are taken for granted by many.
We work from Katikati to Maketu, in the Tauranga/Mount Maunganui Bay of Plenty locality so you can be sure you are helping someone close to home in your local community.
The trust deals with a wide range of children who may have experienced poverty, domestic violence, drug/alcohol abuse and the social challenges that arise from these issues. These children are highlighted and identified through various agencies for interventions.
TAYT generally works with children for up to 3 years. Whether it is taking them out for coffee and a chat or helping to fund interventions to support their learning or sports. The trust runs a variety of programmes aimed at increasing and encouraging positive behaviour and decision making.
SOCIAL, EDUCATIONAL & FUN FOR KIDS
Te Aranui Youth Trust delivers several programmes to help our kids achieve in school and life in general. Simple things that many take for granted like a hearty breakfast and keeping them occupied and inspired.
THERE ARE MANY WAYS IN WHICH TO HELP
Te Aranui Youth Trust doesn’t just deliver programmes, we also help our kids with interventions that vary in need and cost, other examples of where our funding goes are:
