Good Neighbour and Te Aranui joined forces to create Food for Thought – Rescued Food Festival. We created this event to celebrate rescued food, our community and of course our two charities. We had an amazing day on Saturday 23rd of March where everyone came together to cook delicious food made from rescued ingredients. The dishes were then sold to hungry festival goers with the proceeds going to Good Neighbour and Te Aranui Youth Trust.

Unfortunately, there was a bit of rain, but it didn’t seem to dampen anyone’s spirit. Our team consisted of Chef Ian Mikkelsen from Robert Harris, Sasha and Bianca from Toi Ohomai, Danielle, Tanya, myself and my mum Gail and partner Nikhil. A huge thanks to Lavina, Katy and Tanya for helping organise the event. It was a huge success and we hope to have a bigger and better Food for Thought – Rescued Food Festival next year. Check out the next page of the newsletter for some photos of all the action.
